At one time or another during your blogging experience, you will come to a point where you cannot think of an idea for your next post. While there are many posts out there that will help you think of ideas for a post, they are not always helpful. Do a search on your favorite search engine and see what comes up. Some of the ideas that I have found have been useful and it is still a good idea to read them or at least have read them, but they don’t always work.
One thing that I have discovered after reading some of these posts is that sometimes I still don’t know what to add to my site. If you find yourself in a similar situation, the best thing to do may be to just walk away from the computer and go do other things.
The best blogging ideas often come to you when you least expect it. As a blogger, your blog will be on your mind almost continuously whether you know it or not. If you don’t know what you are going to do for your next post, just leave the blog alone for awhile and do something to get your mind off of it. Go for a walk, eat a snack, or any other activity to help you clear your mind.
The important thing is that if you don’t have an idea after 15-20 minutes, get away from the computer, leave the TV and radio off, and don’t think about writing a post. An idea will come to you much faster when you are not trying to think of it. The same idea can be used to help you overcome any sort of creativity block (writer’s block, computer programming issues, website design issues, etc) that you may be having.
