As bloggers, we get to see our blogs differently than anyone else who may come to visit us. As the owner/creator of the site, you have access to the administration panel and can pretty much manage the blog right from that panel.
With some platforms (such as WordPress) there is a preview pane where you can see what the post will look like once published. This leads to blog authors not having to visit their own site as often, if at all. One benefit of this is that there is no worry about artificially inflating the information that you would get from stats trackers such as Google Analytics.
I see how this could possibly be a disadvantage though because if something did not look or function quite right, it may take awhile for you to notice it. The other aspect of this is that when viewing your site, you tend to see it how you want to see it and may have a hard time being impartial to make improvements. My question to all my fellow bloggers out there is this: How often do you view your site from the eyes of your visitors and is there anything you do to try and stay impartial?
I know at times I will visit it from that point of view a couple times in the same day, but then perhaps not at all for the next two or three or more days.
