Hey, it is true that to upgrade from the Technician class to General all that is required is the passing of a 35 question exam. You do need to pass the Technician exam as well and the Technician class license is a great place to start!

I'm sorry to hear about the sale of your grandfather's radios as I'm sure it would be nice to get your license and get on the air using them.

If you ever have any other questions regarding ham radio or the exams and such, feel free to drop me a line either via comment on any of my posts or using my contact page. Thanks for stopping by.

Is this still true that general class license requires passing a 35 question examination. General class licensees must also have passed the Technician written examination?

My grandpa was into ham radios, he had a large collection. He passed over 10 years ago and my dad kept them for awhile. He was going to learn more about it when he retired. But things happen and they moved and he sold all of them to one person for a relatively cheap price.

I sitll can smell yes smell those old things. Ha ha. Thanks for the memory.

[...] Due to the not so overwhelming response to my giveaway I was trying to think of a way to get more people to leave comments and then fill out the entry form. I can only encourage it so many times and still save posts to provide (or at least attempt to provide) quality content. [...]

[...] Since I don’t even know what the heck lunchmeat has to do with radios, I’d personally rather win the twenty bucks. But feel free to enter to win either prize over at Romandock. You can get one entry in the contest for every ten comments you leave on this dude’s blog. [...]
