I think I'd read your explanation of the characters before but couldn't remember exactly what the deal was. Thanks for clearing that up.</description>

The Japanese you see in my name are part of the katakana character set, and that's how you spell "Jason" in Japanese.  With so many other bloggers and commenters by the same name, we need to be just a little creative to really stand out, ne?</description>
