I know there are many sites out there that have a similar setup where you pay a set amount of money for a given number of pixels on a web page and get to put whatever you want in that space. Even though this idea has been done several times before, there are two such projects currently underway that I would like to take the opportunity to inform you of.
With both of the versions of this that I am mentioning, the biggest attention-getter for the the promotion is that people who purchase pixels will be entered into a chance to win some cash.
Of the two of these, the one that I came across first is “The $10K Giveaway” where the winner will receive $10,000. One cool part about this is that Bryan from One Man’s Goal will be personally delivering the $10,000 check to the winner. All of the details are available on Bryan’s website.
The second one was just officially announced by EnkayBlog this morning via a timestamped post. Fortunately, I was one of the select few to get early access to “The Wall of Blogs” and got what I feel is a pretty good spot. Enkay is selling a bit larger pixel block (125×125) than most of the similar sites and at a pretty good price too! The money you can win is not as much, but the odds are better (1 in 320 chance of winning $500 and then 1 in 640 chance of winning $500) and you can increase your odds by purchasing more blocks.

Thanks for the post Nick. I am sure that the Wall of Blogs will start to get full pretty soon. I have created levels now instead of having one large wall. As soon as one level fills up, another one is opened and they are rotated so everyone gets to show up on the top fold a few times. I wanted to do this because people said it wasn’t fair that they pay the same price as everyone else and don’t get a visible spot. Hopefully that will help everyone out!
I saw reference to that, and it sounds like a pretty fair way to do it. How many rows are in each level then or how is that going to work?
