As bloggers, we often end up with two audiences. At least in my case, I have noticed that I have my target audience and my actual audience.

My target audience would include people who come here looking for information related to one of my three main topic areas, like all the people who get here from Google after searching for TM-D710. My actual audience is you, my readers who are generally drawn here from other places on the blogosphere and are likely fellow bloggers.

If you have a blog about blogging and/or making money online (and with blogs) then you probably don’t have this situation. Your target audience and your actual audience are one in the same.

When I started this site three months ago, I did not want to become another blog that talks about blogging, but I have noticed that I have kind of become just that. However, I still try to keep as many posts as possible aimed at my “target audience” while still maintaining my current reader base.

Basically, I have kept my target audience in mind and written for them, but at the same time embraced the audience I do have (I really like you guys) and written articles that you may find interesting and/or useful so as to maintain you as readers.

Have you encountered a similar effect with any blogs that you have? How have you decided to deal with this situation in your blog?
