While going through my news feeds (along with my blog feeds) today, I noticed the following headline:
Prof whose ‘last lecture’ moved millions dies
I clicked through, read the article, and felt I should share this sad news with my readers. The professor being referred to is Randy Pausch. If that name is familiar to you, it may be because I have talked about him twice before on this site. If the name is not familiar to you, follow the first link below.
The first time I talked about him was back in September of 2007 when I first heard about him and watched the lecture.
I mentioned him again much more recently as a part of a contest at Postcards From The Funny Farm because of how inspirational his lecture was.
If you haven’t watched his lecture, I urge you to do so and take some notes! It will be an hour and a half well spent.

I thought the lecture was great. This was definitely sad, sad news.
Definitely some sad news. I saw the video and his lecture was amazing.
When I saw that .. I was very sad… The lecture was amazing.
I watched a Dateline episode tonight on him with Diane Sawyer. I had to get up and leave the room it was so sad. Well, at least he went out having a blast.
It sucks… I found out through the google link.
Being a fellow computer scientist, it is hard to see somebody this good at teaching pass away. I would have loved to take a class with him.
