You may remember a program called AllAdvantage that paid it’s members for time spent surfing the internet. Well, that didn’t work out so well, they paid out more than they brought in and ended up losing money and shutting down. It seems that the creators of AllAdvantage have learned from their mistakes and decided to try again with a program called Agloco.
The idea is basically the same. After signing up (for free), you download a free toolbar (as far as I can tell it’s only available for Microsoft Windows at this time) that sits on your desktop and shows you ads while you’re surfing the internet. The company gets paid for showing the ads and for users clicking on them and then passes some of the profit on to the users. It seems that one of the biggest changes from the original program is that AllAdvantage had a set payout structure ($0.50 per hour for up to 25 hours, referrals at $0.10, and extended referrals at $0.05) and with Agloco, nobody (not even the people in charge) know how much an hour of surfing is going to be worth. They have also made the maximum number of hours much more conservative (5) which will also help keep those who do not use the computer as much on the same ground as the people who could easily surpass the 25 hour limit set by the previous program.
It appears that the payout/hour will vary from month to month depending on the income of the company. The net profit (not gross) of the company will then be split 90-10 with 90% of it being divided between the members and the other 10% going to the development and administration teams. I’m not sure how profitable this is going to be, or even if I’m ever going to get any money from it at all. As with many things, you don’t know until you try and, hey, it’s free so even if it amounts to nothing gained, I’m not out anything (except a few moments of my time for signing up and installing the viewbar and the time I spent online which I would do anyway) so why not give it a try?
Like AllAdvantage, Agloco wants it’s members to refer new people to the site and gives each person who signs up a referral ID and a special link to give to their friends. So I’ll give you the link to join my Agloco network so that when you sign up I’ll get another referral. There’s no promises of large amounts of money, and it’s definately not a get rich quick scheme, but who knows, you might end up with more than you had before.

[…] There were multiple posts on many blogs about Agloco and I even wrote a post about the program. Then, the excitement seemed to die down. After the tool bar was released, people seemed to quit talking about the program and almost forget about it. […]
