I got a little coupon booklet in my mailbox yesterday and found the contents to be somewhat amusing. It won’t necessarily make me want to eat more KFC, but it is an interesting way to use current events in advertising…especially the second one.

The following are some catch phrases that were also found on the inside of the booklet:
Life is taxing mealtime shouldn’t be
Fill up for less
Original is the new change
Family values at KFC

It’s great to see companies actively use current events in their ad copy. Makes them seem relevant, and shows that they’re not passively putting out the same ads they’ve been using for years.
The 7-Election put on by 7-Eleven was another great example of this: http://thefutureofads.com/2008/10/13/7-election-sells-support-with-your-coffee/ Who wouldn’t buy a cup to support your presidential choice?
MMMM, wings!
haha, i was just going to type…mmm Chicken!
Brilliant! I really like that second one!
Competition are tight nowadays and it is interesting to see MNCs coming up with more creative ad campaigns to boost their sales. Thanks for sharing the catchy phrase from KFC to us and this just proves how importance catchy headlines are.
