If you are like me, you probably have multiple projects that you want to do in mind at any one time. Some of these probably get pushed off time and time again, while others are just waiting for a specific “kick in the pants” so to speak before you get around to them.

One tip I have for getting these done is to write them down and revisit the idea of doing them from time to time. This will keep them fresh in your mind so they do not get forgotten and also can help serve as a way to eliminate the ones that were possibly not such a good idea to begin with.

One benefit of keeping the ideas fresh in your mind is that you will be more aware of things around you that may help improve or complete a given aspect of the project that might otherwise become an obstacle when you finally get around to working on the project. Often times, this comes in the form of using things for uses other than that for which they were intended.

I have had experiences like this in the past where there were things I wanted to do and just hadn’t really started working on yet and suddenly came across something that, although it was not intended to be used in that capacity, worked perfectly for a project I had in mind.

Now, keeping the idea fresh in your mind is not going to guarantee that you will get it done, but it is a step in the right direction and sometimes coming across something that will be very useful to a project can be the “kick in the pants” that you need to begin making progress.
