When I heard about this awhile back, I decided I should post it here but just didn’t get it done till now.
Sometimes, people accidentally use the wrong name when talking to or about someone. In many cases, if a person is called by the wrong name, their first reaction is generally “what did you just call me?” or a similar thought. However, apparently, using the wrong name is something that is not too terribly uncommon and anyone can be affected by it.
The next time someone calls you by the wrong name, keep yourself in check and don’t get too bent out of shape over it, they probably didn’t mean anything by it.
Now, for the event that prompted this post: below is a video of Garth Brooks accepting an award at the 2008 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. The award is being presented to him by Reba McIntire but if you listen carefully, you will hear him call her “Miss (Trisha) Yearwood” instead.
