One thing that I think happens to many bloggers is that we read the same sites on a regular basis and rarely venture beyond the comfort of our regular haunts. While most people will take part in the dialog in the comments and be active members of these sites, it is not very often that we will venture to a new site and see what someone else has to say, even when one of our regular stops recommends it.
Due to this, we fall in to a regular pattern and our web ventures become almost routine and we sometimes experience a waning in the excitement and motivation that comes with being a blogger and that is especially experienced when starting a new site. Recently I inadvertently discovered a way to overcome this.
While I have always been motivated and just havenât always had/taken the time to craft some posts, I was doing some reading on the outer fringes of my regular haunts the other day and ended up reading several posts at Beyond The Rhetoric (by the way, Kwan does a great job of deep linking) and from there made my way over to ChrisBlogging. After spending a fair amount of time reading posts on both of these sites, I was experiencing a bit of motivation that I didnât have before hand.
While it is almost necessary to read other blogs on a regular basis, if you are feeling the need to increase your level of motivation, you may do well to check out some blogs that you otherwise do not visit on a regular basis and explore the depths of those sites. Check out the âBlogs I Readâ section of my sidebar for some suggestions.
