In my last post, I mentioned that I have added three new ad programs that I can try and earn some money through, but I didn’t say what any of them were. Well, the first one that I am going to give my initial thoughts on is Infolinks.
I first heard about Infolinks quite some time ago, and I think I may have even received an invitation from them to sign up but never did. However, I decided it was time to try some new programs and see if I can have some success. While I haven’t checked my stats yet, I am already somewhat impressed with this program.
I signed up for the program, and got the message that my account was being reviewed. Then, I later received notification that I was approved and was sent a PDF file with instructions for implementing Infolinks on my site. I received the approval notification on Saturday, and then about 45 hours later, I hadn’t implemented it yet and received another email asking if I needed help or had any questions on setting things up.
While some people might find this pushy, given recent experiences with the program that will be the subject of my post 24 hours from now, I find it nice to know that someone is paying attention to me and cares that everything is working for me.
I took the few moments required to modify my theme template and then made some adjustments to the color of the links and was up and running in no time. I now have three contextual ad programs running on this site and one of the three is loaded with each page load. It was quite easy to add them into the rotation and so far I am quite pleased with the way that they are working.
From the success that I have heard other bloggers having with this program, I am looking forward to good things from them and will perhaps (depending on how things go) increase the chances of it’s loading or removing the other two completely.

I dont like Infolinks. they bug me.
What don’t you like about them or what is it about them that bugs you? Is it Infolinks in particular or just the idea of in-text advertising?
I just dont like how if i accidentally put my cursor over the link, I have no choice BUT to look at them. They are sorta in your face.
I hate to admit it but i purposely avoid them.
I sometimes find them amusing by the terms they pick to link to and what they find to advertise with those particular words.
InfoLinks can be bugging but they’re service is good and its a major improvement over Kontera in terms of the ads being EVERYWHERE.
I still have Kontera on this site as well (just not in the same page load as Infolinks) and don’t really notice a whole lot of difference in the placement or quantity of links other than that they link to different words and have different products.
