Thu 5 Mar 2009
Ok, so I got a little bit off track in February but it wasn’t a total loss. I’ve made what I feel is some pretty significant progress towards getting my newest project launched and spent pretty much all of my computer time the last few weeks working on that instead of keeping up with things here. I’ll get to a bit more about that in a bit, but first I want to recognize and thank my top commentators from last month.
Top Commentators
The total number of comments that were left last month is significantly less than we had in January. However, considering that there were only six updates to the site during the month of February I am more than pleased with the amount of conversation that was had on this site.

Martin - 6 comments
Tammy - 6 comments
Ben Pei - 4 comments
The Blogger Source - 3 comments
Best CSS Gallery - 2 comments
Sherri - 2 comments
Ray Ebersole - 2 comments
Derek - 2 comments
Dennis Edell - 2 comments
I’m happy to note that even with the lack of updates I had 10 people who left more than 1 comment and several new additions to the list this month that were not there last month. I encourage you all to check out the sites of the individuals above and leave some comments on their sites as well.
Goals For 2009
Ok, now for an update on my progress towards my goals for 2009. I feel pretty good about my progress even though I don’t have a ton of results to show yet. Even with the lack of posting, my subscriber count appears to have held pretty steady and is currently showing 31 subscribers. Analytics shows 971 vists over the last thirty days. When divided by 30, is about 32 visits per day. Again, this is pretty close to the number from last month but not something I’m disappointed about based on my lack of updates.
In regards to my posting volume. This is the one area I need to keep on top of myself about. In the last two months I’ve had 28 posts (6 in February and 22 in January) as we are 1/6 of the way through the year, multiplying this number by 6 is only 168 which means I would fall short of my goal for the year. However, I have 222 posts left to write (250 - 28 = 222) and there are 301 days left in the year so as long as I don’t slack off too much I should be ok for this goal.
I do have another site pretty much ready to go, so this is very exciting. If all goes well, this site should significantly help me reach my monthly earnings goal. As I mentioned before, it is also what has been keeping me away from this site more than I would have liked. My current plan is to have a little pre-release party where I am going to invite people to check-out the site and give me some feedback. This will allow me to squash any bugs and make any changes that are suggested before the official announcement. I have done some moderately extensive testing and corrected several errors/bugs that I found but I just want to get some feedback and be sure that it’s ready to go. If you’re interested in checking it out as part of the pre-release party, contact me and you may get an invite.
All in all, I am still positive about reaching my goals for the year and think that they are all very achievable.

Thanks for the mention Roman. Hope to see you on my blog too. Keep blogging!
One of these days I’ll get a chance to expand my list of sites I like to visit and subscribe to and will make sure to check yours out!
By the way, the name here is Nick.
Oops Nick.
Thanks I really appreciate it if you could do so. =)
Let’s hope you’ll soon reach 1000 visits daily. It’s not that much now but you have to update more regularly Nick.
Good luck with your goals mate!
Nick, your website for finding the book prices is BEYOND AMAZING! I searched for a few of my text books and was highly amazed at how you did this. Great Job. I will have a free plug for it in my upcoming post. Great job! Oh, and I need to pick up my pace with the comments! Sorry!
Thanks for the kind words! I look forward to the free plug
Don’t feel too bad about the comment pace, I need to pick up the pace with that again as well and also my pace of posting.
I made the list! YAY!
I’m glad you’re sure you’ll be able to achieve your goals. Too many people sets unrealistic goals for themselves then realises after a month that there is no way they’ll achieve them so they drop them alltoghether.
Hey Roman, glad to see you back online. Miss seeing you at Beyond the Rhetoric. I also look forward to seeing the new site.
And I know your name is Nick. Just using the blog name and being an sleepy person typing.
Its always nice to see you reply your readers’ comments. Makes me feel alot more comfortable here..
