Ok, so here’s the deal: I’m broke. I’m broke and I’m tired of it. I’m tired of my monthly bills totaling as much (or sometimes more) than my paychecks. What I need to do is to get some (or all) of my debts paid off: credit cards, student loans, etc. In order to change my situation, I’m asking for the help of you, my readers and the community. However, I’m not just asking for hand-outs or donations.
I have recently come across an affiliate-type opportunity that seems to have a fair amount of potential. The program I am talking about is from Prosper, which is an online community for lending and borrowing money. I have read about Prosper on a few other sites in the past and finally got around to checking it out. While the site and program itself are quite interesting, it is their current referral program that has me typing this post.
If you click here, sign up for Prosper, deposit $50.00, and then lend that $50.00 out, both you and I will get $25.00 as the referral bonus. You will then get your original $50.00 back with interest through the regular monthly payments from the person you loaned your money to.
With the help of you, the community, I will be able to get at least some of my debts paid off and you will also benefit as well. Also, to help sweeten the deal and encourage the blogosphere to help me get ahead, anyone who makes an effort to help me out and posts on their site with one of my referral links and a link to this post can have a month of advertising on this site as either a text link in the sidebar, 125×125 button, or 468×60 banner (your choice).
So, just to recap:
- Sign up for Prosper
- Deposit $50
- Lend the $50
- Get $25 back (your risk is now only $25)
- Post my referral link and a link to this post on your site
- Get 1 month of your choice of advertising at romandock dot com
- Get monthly payments from the person you lent money to recouping your orignal $50 plus interest
- Total gain of over 50% return plus 1 month advertising
The referral program ends June 30, 2008 so please sign up soon and help me out. You will also be benefiting from this. Also, there is not any sort of residual income from this referral program (only the interest earned from lending) so referring your readers for me will not have any lasting negative effects on your or my monthly income potential. Unfortunately, the Prosper program is open to US residents only, however, posting my referral link and a link to this post on your site will still get anyone a month’s worth of free advertising.

US residents only? Ack … I can pretend to be in Canada, but as I’m in Japan, it’s impossible for me to pass as an American. It’s a shame, too … I am in the same boat and need to come up with $1800 in the next 8 days
I hope you can reach at least half of your goal, Nick.
Yikes, that’s over $200 per day! Good luck, I hope you accomplish that.
Unfortunately, for whatever legal reasons and whatnot, the Prosper program is only open to US Residents, otherwise I know you would help me out Jason!
Thanks for the support anyway and be sure to get all your friends that are in the US to help me out
How long does it take to get your money after your Prosper.com loan is fully funded on average?
From what I have found, it appears that after the loan is funded, it goes in to a review process. It appears that this can take anywhere from less than a day up to 7 days (but no longer than 7 days) and when the process is completed, the money is transferred into the borrower’s bank account.
This is just what I have found in the Prosper FAQs. I personally don’t have any experience on the borrowing side of things so can’t say for sure. If anyone has experience with this, feel free to share your experiences.
