The links in this post are very important. We all have tons of time that we don’t know what to do with and this post will help solve that problem. Mind you, this list is not meant to be all-inclusive or provide endorsement of any of the sites or services listed here.
While many of you will be familiar with many of these sites, and some of you might know them all, there may be some readers who have not heard of all of them. By referencing this post, you should easily be able to eliminate that extra time with nothing but an internet connection.
To start things off, you might want to check in with some social networking sites:
Then, move on to some user-generated content and social networking mashups:
Flickr
YouTube
Digg
StubleUpon
After browsing around those sites for awhile, if you find that you still have some time left that you need to eliminate, go play a game:
Addicting Games
Miniclip
Net-Games
Yahoo Games
Zone MSN
Now, I don’t have first hand experience with all of these sites, but from what I have heard about them and experienced with the ones I have been to, you should easily be able to spend as much time as you want online.
Ok, those links really weren’t that important, so what was the point of this post? It’s just a wake-up call to myself and my readers. Notice that none of the sites I listed above are extremely productivity orientated sites. While I can certainly see productive things happening via Facebook, Twitter, and even YouTube, I purposely did not include things like news sites, the National Weather Service, or your email in this list as the time spent on those things is generally more likely to be productive.
Now, thinking about this, how much time have you wasted online on these or similar sites in the past week doing things that were not productive in any way? The past month? Year? Combined throughout your whole life?

Lol just in time for me to kill my sunday and maybe monday blues.. =)
Participating in these social medias indeed took up quite a bit of my time but it gives results for your site if you are serious about blogging. To be honest, I often divert my attention to these social media sites when I am typing my articles.

I agree that they can be useful, but (at least in my own experience) the vast majority of time that is spent on them is not productive and basically wasted.
Why didn’t you link to your profiles on each one?
As bad as it might be for me to say this, the only two of the above that I am signed up for are MySpace and Facebook.
Of those, there isn’t really anything on my MySpace profile and I never use it. The main reason I have that one is because occasionally people who know that I do stuff with computers and web design type stuff will have questions about doing something on MySpace and I can use my MySpace page while I’m trying to help them figure something out.
As far as Facebook, I use that for it’s original intended purpose (keeping it touch with friends, family, classmates, former friends, and former classmates) and have my profile set to “only friends” so you all wouldn’t have been able to see it anyway.
But you dont have any free time how did you find all these sites of spots where you can waste time if you dont have it to waste??? hehe!
woo, say that 5 times fast! lol
I have spent countless hours on StumbleUpon, Youtube, and them online games. I am sure if I added all them up so far, it would probably be several days. Sad, I know. These damn places capture my attention so well! Plus my attention span is short so I am constantly Stumbling.
ugghh, thanks for making me realize what a lazy ass bum I am! :p
Don’t feel so bad. I’ve spent several hours on many of those sites as well…this post just makes me realize and reminds me that I should try to be productive as much as I can because all that wasted time really begins to add up
thak you for such cool list of websites, it is great list.
