As evidenced by some of my previous posts, I’m a sucker for a good giveaway. At times I have considered doing posts like some other bloggers do that count as entries for several contests at once, but have decided that for the most part, the prizes are good enough that the giveaway is worthy of a post of it’s own.

This one is no different. The estimated prize value is $1800 which is quite a good value to receive for this one post if I am chosen as the winner. However, for better or worse, the winner does not get cash.

This promotion is being sponsored by Gadgettastic and the prize is three months worth of advertising. The advertising takes the form of a 125×125 banner and a quick look at their advertising page shows that this space would cost $600 per month to purchase.

Now, for a blog that isn’t even old enough to have been around for a PageRank update yet, this may seem quite high. However, a look at their stats and traffic numbers gives me some understanding of why they charge as much as they do. Then again, seeing how many ad spots they have open, I think they should lower the price to fill the spots and then start raising it just enough so that there are maybe one or two spots available.

At any rate, I sure hope I win!
