With a little creativity, you can find great ideas in the most unlikely of possibilities. For example, I recently read an article (I think it was from the Associated Press) that talked about a guy who sells Avon products. Yes, you read that right and it wasn’t a typo.

Now, to most people, this probably sounds quite absurd and you wouldn’t think he would be very successful, but with a little twist on the same product he does quite well. Now, it’s nothing like Bloggrrl’s fantasy of having a large network of cross-dressers helping her earn a Mary Kay Cadillac but a rather ingenious idea that works well for him. What this guy, who happens to be a construction worker, does is bring some catalogs and brochures to work and encourage his co-workers to buy things for their wives and girlfriends.

Of course, his biggest sellers are things like perfumes and lotions and not the make-up products, but how many of you would have even considered the possibility of a guy selling Avon? If you got that far, how about other guys buying the stuff? I know this is something I wouldn’t have been likely to dream up.

This should be a lesson to us all that you even if something doesn’t sound remotely relevant, with the right spin it could be a great. Just ask yourself how you could make it work for your situation.
