Here is another open source program that can be used on Windows to help your transition from Windows to Linux.
According to my Analytics stats, this post is only going to apply to about 50% of my readers. That is because the other 50% view this site with either Firefox or another Mozilla product (such as Iceweasel) and already know about alternative browsers.
Many people do know about, use, and prefer Firefox over Internet Explorer and other browsers. In my experience, this is a wise decision. Some of the advantages of Firefox over Internet Explorer (44% of my viewers) are that it loads faster and runs smoother.
While the newest generation of Internet Explorer has added features that used to be advantages of Firefox such as tabbed browsing and standards compliance, the amount of processing power used by Internet Explorer is still greater than the amount used by Firefox.
Another advantage of Firefox is that there are a variety of plug-ins and add-ons that you can download that will help you to personalize your browser and make it easier to do the things you want it to do. These plug-ins an add-ons can also be just as easily removed if you decide not to use them any longer.
