					<description>I like the idea of using the same name and avatar and just changing the url based on the focus of the site you're commenting at. It helps people realize that it is the same person but you have multiple sites with different focuses.

I can see how the spam filter issues could definitely become an issue, especially if you get enough spam that you don't look through it all.

I do agree, though, that as long as the comment is worthwhile it probably isn't too big of a deal.</description>

					<description>Nice write-up of the issue Nick.  I've used the name of my personal finance site on some blogs as my comment name, although lately I have just been using my name everywhere and altering the URL based on the focus of the site where I am commenting.

The thing that really brought the issue to my attention was that some of the readers using the keywords always have their comments caught by my spam filters.

I know some blogs do not allow the practice of using keywords.  Ultimately, I guess I really don't mind it too much as long as the person is contributing a worthwhile comment.  But it does detract a little from the personal aspect of commenting and building a relationship.
