When John Chow posted his article on gadgets that he brings with him when he travels, I was inspired to do something similar. However, rather than just feature a couple of the things I bring with me, I decided to do a more comprehensive list. However, with pictures and all, it would get to be an extremely long post so I have decided to break it in to a three-part series. It does get to be a fair amount of stuff to haul around and sometimes I consider “downsizing” and dragging less stuff with me, but I’m just not sure what I would leave out. Luckily, I haven’t had reason to fly anywhere lately so haven’t had luggage requirements to worry about.
Normally, I have three “bags” that I bring with me: two computer cases and one piece of actual luggage. With these three items, I can pack for anywhere from a weekend to a week-long trip.

For this first post in the series, there a a couple of things that I haul in my “suitcase” that would be classified under “devices” and would be suitable to mention in this post.

Power Strip – I recently started bringing this with me because there never seems to be enough power outlets in hotel rooms.
Router – I generally bring along a NetGear WGR614 although lately I have been leaving it home more often than not.
Charger for my Yaesu VX-7R
Charger for my iPaq
Stay tuned to find out what is in those other two bags. If you want to be sure to not miss them, sign up for my RSS Feed.

Its good to see that someone else also packs as well as I do. I have to be sure to have all the essentials with me. I usually have my cell phone, charger, NEC Mobile Pros (780 & 900c) with their power adapters and wireless network cards. Thats about it!
Wow! You pack really light
You haven’t seen the tip of the iceberg yet…wait till part 3!
