Ok, so upon further investigation, when I started looking at the question bank and figuring out exactly how I was going to write the posts to teach all of you everything you would need to know to become a ham radio operator, I decided that I am not going to undertake that project right now.

I know I said I was going to use this method as a means to increase the amount of radio posts I have on here, but it is going to be a pretty big project. I hope you all aren’t too disappointed that I won’t be doing that. There were also a few other factors that came into play when making this decision:

1. Time – It’s been somewhat difficult lately for me to balance everything that I have going on in life so I don’t think I would be able to be regular enough at it right now to make it as good as it deserves to be.

2. Niche Blogging – Quite some time ago, I was thinking about the future and decided that future plans for this site involved it being a little more niche oriented and be more of a collection of ramblings and observations. Along these same lines, I have started to contemplate and plan for a couple of additional domain names in the coming months. While, at least for the time being, I will continue to post a few ham radio related posts here, I am going to save that content for the launch of my not-yet-created ham radio niche site.

3. RSS Subscribers – I recently read a post (I don’t remember who wrote it or where it was but if I did I would link to it here) that talked about increasing and maintaining both your subscriber count and regular visitor base. One of the things mentioned in that post was keeping the content geared towards what your visitors/readers want to see. Judging from past participation, I don’t think that most of you would be too interested in reading those posts and if I got too geared towards that type of thing some of you might be tempted to unsubscribe rather than have your reader cluttered up with stuff you don’t care about.

I apologize to anyone who was really looking forward to that series of posts, but just sit tight and once I get time to get things rolling on that ham radio niche site you will still be able to get the information. I have also considered turning it into an eBook so you could get your eyes on the information that way.

As always, if there is something you want to know or have a question on related to ham radio (or any of my other topics for that matter) don’t hesitate to make use of my contact page and ask.
