I recently became accepted into the AzoogleAds advertising network. This gives me additional options to use at the end of each post and on other parts of the site. So far, I have somewhat mixed opinions about the service.

After signing up, I had to wait to be approved. This didn’t bother me too much because many programs have an approval process. What originally set AzoogleAds apart from the competition is that when they were reviewing my site, they had a couple of questions for me and rather then sending an email they actually called.

I found this to be something out of the ordinary and in my mind it helped to legitimize the business. Other programs seem to use email as their only form of communication, but AzoogleAds goes above and beyond to connect with the publishers.

The biggest drawback I have found to AzoogleAds so far is that they do not have much in the way of offers that would fit in to the topics I try to focus this blog on. They do seem to have new offers coming in every day though so I’m sure that will change over time. The other thing I have found is that some of the offers that I might be interested in promoting are not available as the ad shapes and sizes that I would like them to be. I think if I spend more time browsing through the site I may find some more that may be relevant, however, because unlike programs such as AdSense, you actually get/have to pick and choose what ads show up on your site.

This can be beneficial because it will assure that the ads on your site are relevant and approved by you, however, it can be a disadvantage because it requires you to actually take the time to find the ads and integrate them into your site.

A couple of days after being accepted into the program, I received another phone call from AzoogleAds and it was my “Affiliate Manager” who wanted to make sure all was well for me. It seems that everyone who is accepted into this program is assigned to someone who will help you make the most of the program and make suggestions for you. I find this to be a great thing that they have going for them as it makes the experience much more enjoyable and much less frustrating. My affiliate manager even agreed to browse through my site and make some suggestions for me!
