As you may have noticed, I made a few changes to the layout of this site. The things that are probably most obvious are that I removed the 468×80 banner between each post, added a third row in the “Supporters” section, and turned off the “Stripe Ad” at the top of the page.

I removed the 468×80 banner between the posts because I wanted to clean-up the look of the site a little bit and because there seems to be more interest in 125×125 ads than 468×80 banners. I might put them back in the future, but for right now I have decided to not have them there.

The third row in the “Supporters” section was added to better accommodate one of the new ad programs that I signed up for recently. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to increase the number of 125×125 ads displayed, but decided that I would give it a try for awhile and see how things go.

In regards to the removal of the “Stripe Ad” from the top of the screen, I never intended to have it up there for as long as it was in the first place. The following quote about the “Strip Ad” was taken from a previous post when it was added to this site back in May:

I intend to only use it to promote things and events on this blog and possibly (if the event is large enough) other events throughout the blogosphere. At this time I plan for the use of this plugin to be quite sporadic and that it will not be there most of the time.

As for the three new ad programs, I have a few initial thoughts on each of them that I would like to share, but if I did that all right now it would make a for an extremely long article that you probably wouldn’t want to take the time to read. What I am going to do instead is create a separate post for each of the three. As an added bonus, I will have posts for you to read for the next couple of days!

Notice that I haven’t mentioned what these three ad programs are yet? Well, for many of you it may be easy to figure out just by browsing to my site. If you don’t know what they are and/or you would like to know what my initial thoughts are on each of them, subscribe to my RSS feed.
