I’m not complaining or anything, but just wanted to commemorate this milestone. I know I’ve been very fortunate as some people get this many each week!
I have had Akismet installed and running since this site went live just over a year ago and after clearing out my spam comments, my current reading is that Akismet has protected my site from 10,090 spam comments. I know some people have had different results, but I have been very happy with the performance of Akismet. I have had very few false positives and almost no spam comments come through as not spam.

That’s quite a collection of spam comments!
It’s unfortunate that we need to implement techniques to filter out the spam comments…but spammers take every opportunity they can try try to spam us.
Congratulations on hitting 10,000 Spam Comments! I have been quite popular for spam it seems. I have over half a million spam comments

I have no idea how many spams I have had. But I do know I once in awhile will get one that slips through the cracks… that can tick ya off. But Aksimet is doing it’s job. 10,000 is a lot, how do you know the count? I must be missing something,how DO you get the count? Thanks for any info.

Heh, makes you feel insignificant when you start a new blog and don’t have any. I’m sure they’ll find me soon enough though. They always do…

SPAM is so annoying. You try to make a nice blog, work hard on it. You want to be fair and add do follow to your blog, and the first thing you get is 10,000 SPAM comments.
If at least, they would write a little useful comment on the blogpost, they can keep the free no follow link. But no way! They need to write something really obvious spammy and get kicked out.
What’s the point?
Or is that Indian SEO?
I have already passed that. I get tons and tons. I check it couple times a day so it doesn’t build up.
